Your Location: Home, Product Evaluation Product Evaluation: A Video by Tom Zdunich, & Cine-Glide International "You'll be in Hog Heaven" were the comments by Steve Oldfield of FOX TV. The owner of Harley-Davidson of Glendale, CA, Oliver Shokouh said "This Video defines the Biker Pilgrimage to Mecca!". One of the guys from Sill's Harley-Davidson, Paducah, Kentucky added this comment: "A Riveting Documentary with a Thundering Soundtrack!" After watching this 45 minute tape I gathered my wife and some friends in front of our TV and watched it with them. It was sort of a sanity check. I wanted to see if they thought this video was as good as I had perceived. I wanted to make sure that my love for Harleys didn't taint my opinion. Based on their response to this video, I was confident that this was the single best video on Sturgis that had ever been created.Tom Zdunich has the unique ability to take us through the entire Sturgis experience through the eyes, voices and comments of others. Throughout the video Tom, and his partners in crime, Craig Fuller and Ed Wilets, are interviewing people: Bikers who made the pilgrimage; Locals who share their opinions on the Sturgis week; Cops who work Sturgis and the surrounding town in Wyoming; Women who are part of the scene. And throughout the commentary from the people Tom is interviewing, he films all the stuff going on around them at that time. When these guys are not involved interviewing, they take us for a ride around the Black Hills, over to the impromptu drag races and burn-out competitions in surrounding towns and to the famous "races". Frankly, it's as close to being there as anyone can get. Tom literally puts you in Sturgis for about 45 minutes. It's great. It's intriguing. It's the single best video on Sturgis that's ever been created. The experience and skills of Tom Zdunich, Craig Filler and Ed Wilets become evident as one watches this video. All have extensive backgrounds in television, mostly news. Tom's filming skills go far beyond basic professionalism, with such great projects to his credit as filming the marketing tape for the American IndyCar Series and, at the same time, capturing not only all the speed and action, but also capturing the flavor of the characters involved in the high risk and high dollar sport of Indy Cars. His talent and skills become clearly obvious as you watch the video shots of riders on their way to Sturgis as well as those riding around the Black Hills and the surrounding towns. There are a couple of segments of video footage with Mt. Rushmore in the background that will forever remain in my memory banks. And all along the journey this video takes you on, there's that fabulous and thundering soundtrack. All original tunes created and performed by a relatively unknown band out of Utah. Songs like 'Free', '50 going on 20', and 'Ride in the Sky' just fit with the trip and the characters that add their comments throughout this video tape. As people have asked where they could buy the CD, the only answer they've received is "it comes only with the video." I don't know if there are plans for cutting a CD, but it certainly would sell. In summary, there is not one thing about this video that I can criticize and God know, with my German background, I can usually find something wrong. RIDE the real spirit of STURGIS, is the single best Biker Video I've ever seen. I'll cut through all the crap and put it into one sentence: If you're into Bikes, if you're into Sturgis, been there, going there or dreaming about it, you need to see this video tape! |
